My Vine Trail…
Inspired by the cellar door experience in my homeland of South Australia, gave me the idea to develop Den Boer Wines and to recreate this opportunity for wine tasting enthusiasts in the UK.
Living in Adelaide and having the renowned wine areas of Clare Valley, the Barossa and the Adelaide Hills on my doorstep, meant that wine became a big influence on my weekend activities. And as such the cellar door experience provided an opportunity to try a wine, and to find out what you liked or disliked, before you bought it.
By bringing the cellar door experience to the UK, Den Boer Wines aims to offer you a journey of discovery; to learn about wine and grapes, how wine and food flavours marry together and to experience wine tasting in a social and relaxing way. I want to encourage you to try something new and to make decisions about what you really like. It’s your wine journey after all…
Based in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, Den Boer’s tasting room evokes an ambience and character, recreating a “cellar” feel. At a tasting you can sample a range of wines to suit your individual taste; at the same time developing your palate and knowledge of wine. Discover simple ways to match food and wine to harmonise flavours. Or simply enjoy an evening out with friends or to meet new people in a friendly and open place. I get a kick when I see how people interact at a tasting, especially as the night progresses…
As the wine industry is forever changing, it means that I am continually discovering new tastes and learning about new products. Finding new wines is something I love to do and to share them with others is my passion.
